What challenges have you faced as a woman in the tech industry, and how did you overcome them?

I’ll start, as a woman in tech, you may encounter various challenges, including being ignored or not taken seriously by coworkers based on your title or gender. Additionally, being a minority woman adds another layer of complexity, as you may feel the need to navigate carefully to avoid being labeled as overly aggressive. Overcoming these challenges requires a combination of strategies, self-advocacy, and creating an inclusive work environment. Here are some ways to address these issues, let me know what you think:

• Build credibility through expertise: By consistently demonstrating your expertise and sharing valuable insights, you can gradually earn respect and attention of your colleagues.

• Seek Support from allies: Cultivate relationships with colleagues especially the ones value your contributions.

• Communicate assertively: I cannot stress this enough, be assertive. Clearly articulate your thoughts, provide evidence-based reasoning and emphasize the value.

• Educate and raise awareness: By raising awareness, you can contribute to a more inclusive and supportive work environment.

• Embrace your passion while managing perceptions: Be mindful of your communication style and adapt it to different audiences.
